A Small Noise Can Be a Big Problem
Sydney homes deal with three rodents: roof rats (the acrobats in your ceiling), Norway rats (burrowers around foundations and compost) and house mice. All three breed rapidly — a pair of mice can become a serious infestation within a couple of months.
Beyond the contamination risk to food and surfaces, rodents are a genuine fire hazard: gnawed electrical cabling in roof voids is a common cause of house fires and expensive repairs.
DIY baits often make things worse — poorly placed poison risks pets and wildlife, and rodents dying in wall cavities create weeks of odour. Professional treatment uses secured stations, correct placement and proofing advice to fix the problem properly.
Rodents gnaw constantly to wear down their teeth — insulation, plastic pipes and electrical wiring are all fair game.

Rodent FAQ
Common Questions
Rats or mice — how can I tell which one I have?
Size of the droppings is the easiest clue: mouse droppings are rice-grain sized, rat droppings are olive-pit sized. Loud thumping in the roof usually means roof rats; mice are quieter and often show up in kitchens and pantries first.
Are rodent baits dangerous for my pets?
Unsecured supermarket baits are — that's the point of professional treatment. We use locked, tamper-resistant stations and place them where pets and children can't reach, and we'll tell you exactly where every station is.
Will rodents die in my walls and smell?
It can happen with any baiting program, but placement matters: we position stations to draw rodents toward accessible areas, not deeper into the house. If an odour does develop, it typically passes within one to two weeks — and we can advise on locating it.
How do I keep rodents out permanently?
Proofing: seal gaps larger than a thumbnail (mice fit through much less), fit vent mesh, trim branches off the roof line, secure compost and pet food, and fix the door sweeps on garages. We include proofing advice with every treatment.
How quickly will I see results?
Activity usually drops sharply within the first week and stops within two to three. Heavy infestations, or properties with constant pressure from nearby bushland or waterways, benefit from ongoing monitoring.
